What's new for 2025 in the GMC Terrain?

For the latest model year, the GMC Terrain now comes with an updated exterior that includes new grilles and bumpers. The Elevation model replaces the SLE and SLT trims and the Elevation is now the only trim level, thus simplifying things for Big Spring, TX buyers. You can now select a continuously variable transmission or an eight-speed automatic. The interior has been restyled to provide larger screens and a simpler gear shifter has been relocated from the center console to the steering wheel column.

New standard features include heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise cruise control and a remote vehicle starting system. Safety features have been updated and the Terrain now includes a new blind-spot steering assist and an available rear camera mirror. In addition, the 2025 GMC Terrain now offers an available rear camera mirror.

Performance

The new 2025 GMC Terrain is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's good for 175 horsepower. With front-wheel drive, the torque comes in at 184 pound-feet and with all-wheel drive, you'll be getting 203 pound-feet. Fuel economy continues to be an estimated 24 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on Odessa, TX highways with front-wheel drive and 28 highway MPG with all-wheel drive.

Interior and exterior highlights

The Terrain is a two-row SUV that provides seating for five. The new Terrain offers Texas drivers 43.9 inches of front legroom which is even more than the Honda CR-V. The 2025 Terrain gives you more passenger space than before, while cargo space behind the rear seats comes in at 63.5 cubic feet. All new 2025 Terrain models are equipped with heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote start. Outside, the GMC Terrain offers a power liftgate that can open in the presence of a key fob instead of last year's kick-based system. Exterior paint colors include White Frost Tricoat, Iridium Metallic, Crimson Red, Ebony Twilight Metallic, Dark Sapphire Blue Metallic and Carbon Flash Metallic.

Technology

The 2025 GMC Terrain has received an attractive makeover and the third-generation of the Terrain replaces the previous 7.0-inch and 8.0-inch displays with a large vertical touch screen and a digital gauge cluster. The new screen measures 15.0 inches and has a row of helpful toggle switches. It also comes with a digital gauge cluster that's the same 11.0-display featured in last year's GMC Acadia. The 2025 Terrain comes with standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, Bluetooth, four USB ports, satellite radio, keyless entry, push-button start and a six-speaker stereo. Available tech includes a seven-speaker stereo, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, remote start and a sunroof.
